I'm a Winner!

Several weeks ago I entered the Christmas Creativity Competition hosted by The Sewing Directory and CLOTH magazine, to submit an illustrated tutorial for a seasonal item.

Yesterday I received an email from Fiona at the Sewing Directory, telling me that I had won 3rd prize!

My prize is £50 to spend at Search Press, a leading publisher & distributor of the finest art books, craft books & needlecraft books.

How exciting!! Having all that to spend on lovely books and not feel guilty about it!

My '3rd prize' winning tutorial for this Christmas Stocking, suitable for beginners to make, can be seen on my other blog - Sew Good.

I made the stocking from a piece of linen, some vintage scraps of pretty floral cotton and an old cotton sheet for the lining.

I took photo's of each stage and wrote the instructions so they were, hopefully, easy to follow by someone new to sewing.

Now I need to use the pattern and start making some stockings to sell in my (blog) shop , on Folksy  and on my stall at the Christmas Fairs I have booked.

The Pretty Goods Market Place

I have decided to close my on-line shop and open a 'blog shop' instead.

The hosting for the shop is so expensive and I'm not selling enough to cover the costs, plus it is quite a chore adding new stock. Blogger is so much easier, and the images look so much better - I'm enjoying transferring all the stock over.

It is still a work in progress and I am on a learning curve - I've just fathomed out how to add pages to the blog!

Buyers can still pay for their purchases with Paypal, just click on the add to cart button and follow all instructions.

Click on the tabs below the title picture to take you to all the different sections of my shop.

'Flora' Vintage Barkcloth Handbag with leather handles
£34.00 (includes post and packing)

Now, I have to fill up the shop categories with my pretty handmade items.
I've ideas for Christmas gifts and decorations, more bags and scented sachets, so I must spend some time in my workshop - I just need a housework fairy to sort the domestic drudgery so I have the time to sew!

Does anyone know where I can find one?

Now - Check out this brilliant giveaway!

I have discovered a brilliant blog: Pins and Needles  and she is giving away this fab printed and patchworked cushion.
