Liquorice Allsorts

Who wears a liquorice allsorts printed cravat?

and who had an assignment on Alice in Wonderland for her first GCSE textiles project?

My lovely 13 year old daughter Tess

and this is what she produced!
The final piece had to be a corset..

isn't it fab?

she felted, machine embroidered, buttoned, appliqued,
painted and ate lots of Roses chocolates!

Didn't she do well?
I'm so proud of my girl.

Cakes at Kitsch and Stitch

Photograph from vintage and cake

Some delightful ladies who work hard fundraising for the
are going to make delicious cakes, and provide and serve
the refreshments for sale at the Kitsch and Stitch Fair.

All their profits are going to the Hospice,
so come along,
shop at the Fair, and then
enjoy a cuppa and a lovely slice of cake
in the beautiful, Grade 2 listed, Vestry Hall.

A new haircut!

No - not me.........

..........Purdy!

Purdy has been looking a bit 'wooly' for the last few weeks and I've been getting so impatient waiting for her appointment to come round. I certainly notice how I have to hoover and mop the floors more often when she's due for a hair cut.

Very fluffy!

But doesn't she look lovely now?

My dear little dog - I love her to bits!

A Date for your Diary - the first Kitsch and Stitch Fair.

Introducing the first

KITSCH AND STITCH
VINTAGE AND MAKER'S
FAIR

Lin, of Letticeleaf fame, and myself are organising our first fair.

The Fair will be held in the pretty, historic and busy Wealden town of Cranbrook, Kent.

Lin and I are both avid crafters and collectors and have both had experience in  organising a variety of events and activities, individually, over the years.

With lots of successful fairs of a similar nature taking part in other parts of the country, we thought it was about time that Kent hosted it's own fair and we would like to introduce local, (and, maybe, not so local) sellers, makers and buyers to what we hope to be a regular twice yearly event.

Full details for sellers and makers requiring a pitch will be available on Saturday 14th January 2011 on it's own blog - Kitsch and Stitch.
We will welcome enquiries from local interest, and from further afield; sellers of genuine vintage goods and high-end makers/crafters only.
No bought in crafts or repro. goods will be allowed.
